Special Olympics Bharat – Odisha hosted the Basketball National

Matter “Special Olympics Bharat – Odisha hosted the Basketball National Championship at KT Global School, Barunei, Khordha from 5th to 9th October 2025. Nearly 350 athletes, partners, coaches, escorts and officials from 17 states participated in the event. It was supported by the Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha. Ms. Sonali Chand, OAS, Official on Special Duty of the Department was one of the Guests who gave away medals and certificates to the athletes and partners who secured the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. The other guest was Mr. Dillip Kumar Hial, District Social Security Officer, SSEPD Department, Government of Odisha, Khordha. The Chief Guest of the Opening Ceremony was, retired Col. (Dr.) Kedarnath Dash who unfurled the State Flag, took the guard of honour in the march past and declared the games open.”
